Negotiation decision functions for autonomous agents

چکیده
We present a formal model of negotiation between autonomous agents The pur pose of the negotiation is to reach an agreement about the provision of a service by one agent for another The model de nes a range of strategies and tactics that agents can employ to generate initial o ers evaluate proposals and o er counter proposals The model is based on computationally tractable assumptions demonstrated in the domain of business process management and empirically evaluated

Negotiation Support Systems and Software Agents in E-business Negotiations
Experiments with negotiation software agents’ in frictionless commerce indicate potential for destructive behaviour. Most of the agents are capable of engaging in auctions and have no ability to conduct complex business negotiations. Recognizing that people and software agents operate in different although overlapping spheres we propose an environment in which negotiation and decision support s...
متن کاملAutomated Service Negotiation Between Autonomous Computational Agents
Multi-agent systems are a new computational approach for solving real world, dynamic and open system problems. Problems are conceptualized as a collection of decentralised autonomous agents that collaborate to reach the overall solution. Because of the agents autonomy, their limited rationality, and the distributed nature of most real world problems, the key issue in multi-agent system research...
متن کاملAspire: an integrated negotiation support system and software agents for e-business negotiation
Feedback from several thousands of users of our Web-based negotiation support system has demonstrated that such systems can be used in e-business negotiations. Users’ feedback also indicated that active support in the use of the system and negotiation methodology can facilitate the effective system use. This led us to develop a Web-based integrated negotiation environment capable of supporting ...
متن کاملNegotiation Among Groups of Autonomous Computational Agents
A negotiation mechanisms is presented for a real world problem of task distribution among a set of autonomous computational agents within a business process. The mechanism formally represents the protocol of agent interactions, the set of negotiation issues which agents negotiate over and the tactical and strategic reasoning procedures involved in negotiation decision making of an agent. Prelim...
متن کاملBayesian learning in negotiation
Recent growing interest in autonomous interacting software agents and their potential application in areas such as electronic commerce (Sandolm & Lesser 1995) has given increased importance to automated negotiation. Much DAI and game theoretic research (Rosenschein & Zlotkin 1994; Osborne & Rubinstein 1994) deals with coordination and negotiation issues by giving pre-computed solutions to speci...
